Abstract:
Provided is an absolute encoder that is ideal for miniaturization. The absolute encoder comprising: a worm gear (101c) that rotates according to the rotation of a main shaft; and a worm wheel (102a), the central axis of which is orthogonal to the central axis of the worm gear (101c), and that meshes with the worm gear (101c); the worm gear (101c) being formed by using a first material; and the worm wheel (102a) being formed by using a second material different from the first material.
