Abstract:
When an absorbent material is unevenly distributed within cells in an absorbent which comprises the absorbent material enclosed in a number of cells, a decrease in absorption performance in a part containing a smaller amount of the absorbent material and an increase in the thickness of the absorbent in a part containing a larger amount of the absorbent material are prevented while maintaining the merits of the absorbent.
An absorbent article comprising a first sheet (57), a second sheet (58) in which a number of ruffles extending in a definite direction are formed in parallel, and an absorbent material (59) positioned between the first sheet (57) and the second sheet (58), wherein: the first sheet (57) is bonded to the bottom part in the first sheet side of each of the ruffle (58F) in the second sheet to form a bonding part (56b); between these bonding parts (56b), the first sheet (57) is not bonded to the second sheet (58) and thus a tunnel-like cell (56C) is formed; in each of the cells (56C), an absorbent (56), in which a powdery absorbent material (59), at least containing high-absorbent polymer particles, is enclosed while providing a sufficient space, is provided in such a manner that the individual ruffles (58F) of the second sheet (58) fall in one direction; both ends of each of the ruffles (58F) of the second sheet (58) are fixed in a fallen state; and an intermediate part between the fixing parts (56b) is made standable.
