Abstract:
An absorber (4) of this absorbent article (1) includes an absorbent core (40) and a covering sheet (44) that covers the absorbent core (40). The absorbent core (40) contains a superabsorbent polymer. The superabsorbent polymer contains an antimicrobial agent. The covering sheet (44) contains a fragrance. The surface of the absorbent core (40) preferably has a polymer-free region without any superabsorbent polymer. It is also preferable for one layer of covering sheet (44) to be used to cover the absorbent core (40) such that the left and right side edge regions thereof overlap each other to form an overlapping portion, thereby covering the skin facing surface, the non-skin facing surface, and both side surfaces of the absorbent core (40) with the covering sheet (44).
