Abstract:
Provided is an absorbent body which is to be used in an absorbent article and increases the ventilation properties in the interior of the diaper via a plurality of openings without sacrificing the feel of wearing said diaper, and without any leakage of excrement to the outside through said openings. An absorbent body (13) to be used in an absorbent article (10) has a thickness direction (Z), an absorbent core (20) which has a first surface (20A) and a second surface (20B) which face one another in the thickness direction (Z), and a plurality of openings (40) which substantially pass through the absorbent core (20) in the thickness direction (Z). Therein, the absorbent core (20) includes water-absorbent fibers (25) and long fibers (30) which are longer than the water-absorbent fibers (25). The long fibers (30) are positioned on the inner-circumferential surfaces (40C) of the openings (40) in the thickness direction (Z), and extend uninterrupted from the first surface (20A) to the second surface (20B).
