Abstract:
An absorbent material for low-molecular organic gases which comprises a porous
material having an average pore diameter of 10-200 nm and, adherent thereto,
one or more organic compounds having 10 or more carbon atoms, the amount of the
organic compounds being 10 wt.% or larger based on the porous material. Also provided
is an apparatus for treating the vapor of a fuel for internal combustion engines,
the apparatus employing the gas absorbent material for low-molecular organic
gases. The gas absorbent material for low-molecular organic gases sufficiently
absorbs and removes low-molecular organic gases even when the porous material
is one which has such large pores that low-molecular organic gases such as butane
cannot be adsorbed thereon.
