Abstract:
To obtain an AC motor drive system (1) capable of generating a charging current command value that is for a power storage device, corresponds to regenerative power intensity, and responds to abrupt regenerative power generation, if the regenerative power from an AC motor (16) via an inverter (14) exceeds a prescribed power threshold value, a charge/discharge control means (2) for outputting a control signal for controlling the inverter (14) on the basis of a DC bus voltage value and a charge/discharge current value charges a power storage device (17) so that the DC bus voltage value becomes a voltage threshold value corresponding to the power threshold value, and the charging current at the time of the start of the charging of the power storage device (17) is made to start at a charging current value based on the DC bus voltage value.
