Provided is an acceleration restriction device for a vehicle that calculates an overall degree of certainty indicating the overall degree of certainty for the degree of certainty for a parking space and the degree of certainty for entry into the parking space on the basis of a degree of certainty for a parking space indicating the degree of certainty that a parking space is present in the travel direction of a vehicle and a degree of certainty for entry into the parking space indicating the degree of certainty that the vehicle will enter into the parking space. When the overall degree of certainty is low, the acceleration of the vehicle is restricted to a low degree compared to when the overall degree of certainty is high, said acceleration being controlled in accordance with the operation amount of an acceleration pedal that is operated by the driver and that indicates drive force, and the acceleration of the vehicle is restricted to a low degree in accordance with the travel direction of the vehicle.
