Abstract:
Disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention are an access method and a related device. An access network device sends indication information to a terminal, the indication information being used to indicate the type of radio access technology (RAT) of a first cell of the access network device and/or the type of an RAT of a cell which neighbors the first cell; and then the terminal may access the first cell or a second cell according to the indication information, thereby ensuring that the type of the RAT supported by the cell accessed by the terminal is the same as the type of the RAT supported by the terminal when the terminal initiates the cell access, and avoids a situation where the type of the RAT supported by the terminal does not match the type of the RAT supported by the cell accessed by the terminal, thereby effectively improving the efficiency of the terminal in successfully initiating service.
