Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose an access terminal and a method for redirection from high rate packet data network to a different network, and the method includes: scanning the signal strength of the different network; when the scanned signal strength of the different network meets the service requirement, sending a route update request to the high rate packet data access network, wherein an indication of signals of the different system being available is carried in the route update request; and receiving the redirection message from the high rate packet data access network.
