Abstract:
An accessory device 100 capable of switching the operating state thereof between an active state and a sleep state with less power consumption than the active state communicates with a camera 200 over a notification channel CS that is used for the transfer of a signal between the camera 200 and the accessory device 100 and a data communication channel DATA that is used in data communication with the camera. The accessory device 100 receives active state–instructing data sent from the camera in response to the output of a predetermined signal by the accessory device 100 over the notification channel in the sleep state, and switches the operating state of the accessory device 100 from the sleep state to the active state in response to receiving the active state–instructing data.
