Abstract:
An accumulation conveyor having improved conveyance efficiency obtained using a simple configuration to optimally reduce the distance between objects being conveyed. An accumulation conveyor (10) is provided with: motors (20) each provided to each zone (Z) and each rotationally driving carrier rollers (11) constituting the zone (Z); sensors (22) each provided to each zone (Z) and each detecting the passage of an object (P) being conveyed; and a control means (26) which estimates distance information relating to the distance (L) between two adjacent objects (C1, C2) being conveyed, the estimation being performed on the basis of detection information relating to the objects detected by sensors (22), and which, when the estimated distance information is within a predetermined range, selects a control input for a motor (20n) of a zone (Zn) or for a motor (20n+1) of a zone (Zn+1) so that the conveyance speed in the zone (Zn) in which the upstream succeeding object (C2) is being conveyed is higher than the conveyance speed in the zone (Zn+1) adjacent to the zone (Zn) on the downstream side thereof.
