Abstract:
Provided is an acetic acid recovering method that enables improvement of the recovery rate of acetic acid by reducing loss, and that provides an excellent vapor-saving effect. The acetic acid recovering method according to the present disclosure is for recovering acetic acid from an acetic acid aqueous solution in which cellulose acetate is dissolved, the method comprising: a step 1 for adjusting the concentration of cellulose acetate dissolved in the acetic acid aqueous solution to 1-10000 ppm; a step 2 for bringing the acetic acid aqueous solution in which cellulose acetate is dissolved at a concentration of 1-10000 ppm, into contact with an organic solvent, and separating the solution into an extraction liquid phase mainly containing acetic acid and the organic solvent and a raffinate phase mainly containing water; and a step 3 for recovering acetic acid by performing distillation on the extraction liquid phase.
