Abstract:
An acoustic actuator according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an actuator element which generates sound corresponding to an applied electrical signal; a support member which supports the actuator element to form a motional axis of the actuator element; and an edge member connected to the actuator element. The actuator element includes a piezoelectric unit including one or more piezoelectric members each of which has at least a length squared (2) longer than the width thereof; and a membrane unit including one or more membrane members fixed and adhered to the piezoelectric unit such that the piezoelectric unit is extended in the lengthwise direction of said one or more piezoelectric member, wherein the membrane members perform wave motions in the extended direction of the piezoelectric unit when current is applied to the piezoelectric unit so as to generate said sound corresponding to an applied electrical signal.
