Abstract:
[Problem] In photoacoustic measurement using a probe, to make it possible to reduce the generation of artefacts caused by irradiation with the measurement light. [Solution] An acoustic wave detection probe (11) comprises: an optical irradiation section (42) that emits measurement light (L) that is directed onto a subject (M); an acoustic wave transducer (51) arranged in the vicinity of the optical irradiation section (42) and that is capable of detecting acoustic waves (U); an acoustic lens (53) that is arranged on the detection side of the acoustic wave transducer (51); and a frame (44) that accommodates the optical irradiation section, acoustic wave transducer and acoustic lens. The surface portions of the acoustic lens (53) and the frame (44) in the vicinity of the acoustic lens (53) are constituted so as to have an optical performance according to which their average diffusion reflectance in the wavelength zone of the measurement light (L) is at least 85% and their average absorptance is no more than 10%.
