Abstract:
Provided is an acoustic wave device with which it is possible to obtain satisfactory filter characteristics using Rayleigh waves in a filter having a passband on a relatively low side, while suppressing degradation of the filter characteristics of a filter having a passband on the high side. A first filter 3 and a second filter 4 each including an acoustic wave resonator are connected to an antenna common terminal 2 via a common connecting point 6. F1< F2, where F1 and F2 are first and second passbands of the first and second filters 3, 4 respectively. The first filter 3 includes at least one acoustic wave resonator. The acoustic wave resonator employs Rayleigh waves propagating through LiNbO3, includes an IDT electrode which contains a Pt film and is disposed on a piezoelectric layer comprising LiNbO3, and is provided with a silicon oxide film covering the IDT electrode. The thickness of the silicon oxide film is at most equal to 33% of the wavelength λ of the IDT electrode.
