Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an acrylic acid-based polymer composition able to exhibit very excellent performance when used in such uses as pigment dispersants, detergents, and inorganic matter precipitation inhibitors, as well as a method of production for efficiently obtaining said polymer composition. [Solution] An acrylic acid-based polymer composition obtained by including acrylic acid and a phosphite compound and/or hypophosphite compound into a raw material component, 20 to 1,000 mass ppm phosphite ions being contained in relation to the solid content of the acrylic acid-based polymer. The acrylic acid-based polymer composition is obtained by adjusting polymerization conditions using the hypophosphite compound as a chain transfer agent, and may further be obtained by adding the phosphite compound after the conclusion of the polymerization reaction.
