Abstract:
The present invention provides an acrylic rubber bale which is excellent in terms of roll processability, Banbury processability, water resistance, strength characteristics and compression set resistance characteristics. An acrylic rubber bale according to the present invention is formed of an acrylic rubber which has at least one reactive group that is selected from the group consisting of a carboxyl group, an epoxy group and a chlorine atom, wherein the weight average molecular weight (Mw) is within the range of from 1,000,000 to 3,500,000 and the ratio of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn), namely Mw/Mn is within the range of from 3.7 to 6.5, said molecular weights being obtained by means of the absolute molecular weight and the absolute molecular weight distribution as determined by a GPC-MALS method. With respect to this acrylic rubber bale, the methyl ethyl ketone insoluble fraction is 50% by weight or less; the ash content is 0.2% by weight or less; and the total amount of sodium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and sulfur in the ash content is 50% by weight or more.
