Disclosed are an acrylic rubber reinforced thermoplastic resin with superior impact resistance and molded article appearance and a preparation method therefor. An acrylic rubber polymer (a) is obtained by performing a following first polymerization process and a following second polymerization process in this order under the presence of a sulfonic acid surfactant and/or a sulfate surfactant in an aqueous medium, and a vinyl monomer that comprises an aromatic vinyl compound and a vinyl cyanide compound is subsequently polymerized under the presence of said acrylic rubber polymer (a). First polymerization process: a process for polymerizing a monomer (I) that comprises an alkyl (meth)acrylate ester compound (m1) and a polar group-containing unsaturated compound (m2) that is provided with one carbon-carbon double bond in each molecule. Second polymerization process: a process for polymerizing a monomer (II) that comprises an alkyl (meth)acrylate ester compound (n1) and a unsaturated compound (n2) that is provided with at least two carbon-carbon double bonds in each molecule.
