Abstract:

The present invention relates to active carbon that has a 1250-1800 m2/g BET specific area ratio (A) calculated from the adsorption isotherm of carbon dioxide, and that has a 0.640 or lower ratio (B)/(C) of the pore volume (B) mL/g of pores with a 0.4-0.7 nm diameter to the pore volume (C) mL/g of pores with a 0.7-1.1 nm diameter, calculated by subjecting the adsorption/desorption isotherm of carbon dioxide to a grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation.
