Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an activated T cell- and/or B cell-selective cell death inducer or cell death promoter that is efficacious for preventing or treating diseases that exhibit excessive or abnormal immune function caused by activated T cells and/or activated B cells. A cell death inducer or cell death promoter selective to activated T cells and/or B cells, said cell death inducer or cell death promoter comprising as an active ingredient 25-hydroxycholesterol or a cholesterol analogous thereto.
