Abstract:

The present invention is an active material which contains silicon, oxygen, a first element, a second element and a third element, while setting the respective contents of constituent elements in all the constituent elements excluding oxygen and carbon to from 60% by atom to 98% by atom with respect to silicon, from 1% by atom to 25% by atom with respect to the first element that contains at least one of boron and phosphorus, from 1% by atom to 34% by atom with respect to the second element that contains at least one of an alkali metal element, a transition element and a typical element (excluding silicon, oxygen, boron, phosphorus, alkali metal elements and alkaline earth elements), and from 0% by atom to 6% by atom with respect to the third element that contains an alkaline earth metal. With respect to this active material, a first peak that has a vertex within the range where the binding energy is from 102 eV to 105 eV, while having a shoulder part on a side where the binding energy is lower than that of the vertex, is detected in the XPS spectrum of Si2p as determined using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS); and a second peak that has a vertex within the range where the Raman shift is from 435 cm-1 to 465 cm-1 is detected in the Raman spectrum as determined using Raman spectroscopy.
