Abstract:
An active matrix substrate comprising a transistor, a pixel electrode (17),
a conductor (18) having a function as one electrode of a holding capacitor, a drain
lead-out electrode (7) connected to the drain electrode of the transistor and
overlying over the conductor (18) and a contact hole (11) for connecting the drain
lead-out electrode (7) and the pixel electrode (17) in each pixel region. In the
active matrix substrate, a first thick film portion (41) superimposed on at least
a part of the contact hole (11) and a second thick film portion (42) adjacent to
the first thick film portion and superimposed on the drain lead-out electrode
are formed on a gate insulating film (40) covering the gate electrode of each transistor.
The film thickness of the first thick film portion (41) is greater than that of
the second thick film portion (42). Thus, an active matrix substrate in which
a short circuit between the conductor having the function as the one electrode
of the holding capacitor and the drain lead-out electrode (or the pixel electrode)
can be surely prevented is provided.
