Abstract:
Disclosed is an active matrix substrate provided with two pixel electrodes (17a, 17b) for each pixel area, and two data signal lines (Sx, Sy) for each pixel area array, the array direction being the direction in which the data signal lines extend, wherein one of the pixel electrodes (17a) of one of the pixel areas from among the pixel area array is connected to one of the data signal lines (Sx) via transistor (12a) connected to a scanning signal line (Gn), the other pixel electrode (17b) of the same pixel area is connected to the other data signal line (Sy) via transistor (12b) connected to another scanning signal line (Gn-1), and pixel electrode (17a) is connected to pixel electrode (17d) of another pixel area which neighbors the abovementioned pixel area in the pixel area array via transistors (12a and 12d, respectively) which are connected to the same scanning signal line (Gn). Thus, the pixel charging time for an individual writing-type liquid crystal display device provided with said active matrix substrate can be extended.
