Description:
ACTIVE NATURAL CLEANING MATERIAL USING SOYBEAN FATTY ACIDS AND ITS MANUFACTURE Technical Field "The present invention pertains, in general, to active cleaning materials using fatty acid derived from pure vegetable soybean (hereinafter, referred to as soybean fatty acid), and methods of preparing the same at room temperature.

More particularly, the present invention is directed to an active natural cleaning material, characterized in that a mixture comprising a condensed compound of natural soybean fatty acid and alkanolamine, and an alkaline non-ionic surfactant having a partial ester structure of soybean fatty acid and a polyhydric alcohol is subjected to a saponification process using sodium hydroxide, to form a dispersing agent in micelle form having a size of 10-6 _10-10 cm, which interacts with surface charges on contaminants, in which such interactions achieve superior penetrability thereof and glossiness of washed articles, and thus excellent cleaning effects can be realized without generating pollutants, whereby a user can feel satisfied upon use of the above cleaning material ; and a method of preparing such a cleaning material.

Background Art

In general, most synthetic detergents, made of hard compounds comprising polypropylene benzene sulfonates in a form of a propylene tetramer, cause environmental pollution as well as having an injurious effect upon the human body, and thus are restricted in their use.

Alternatively, linear benzene sulfonate type soft synthetic detergents have been proposed, but they give rise to toxic pollutants of water, despite excellent decomposition degree thereof in water. In addition, sulfonates or sulfates based detergents require additives and generate calcium carbonate, nitrilo triacetic acid, hexamethylene diamine tetraacetic acid, or diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid. Thus there is an urgent need for environmentally safe natural detergents, capable of substituting for the above materials.

Disclosure of the Invention Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to alleviate the problems in the prior art and to provide an active natural cleaning material having multiple functions, such as penetration, emulsification, dispersion, cleaning and decomposition, capable of easily removing contaminants on skin and various organic or inorganic materials, as well as moisture- retention of skin, through excellent penetrability and surface activity of a dispersing agent in a micelle form of 10-6~ 10-1° cm, obtained by applying a mixture comprising a condensed compound of natural soybean fatty acid or fatty acid derived from rice bran (hereinafter, referred to as rice bran fatty

acid) and alkanolamine, and a non-ionic surfactant having a partial ester structure of soybean fatty acid or rice bran fatty acid and a polyhydric alcohol, to a saponification process.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention The present invention provides an active cleaning material comprising a mixture composed of 30 parts by weight of alkanolamide as a condensate of a natural pure vegetable soybean fatty acid and alkanolamine, 15 parts by weight of isooctylphenoxy polyoxyethoxy ethanol, 42 parts by weight of distilled water, 10 parts by weight of p-tert-oxyphenoxy polyethoxy ethanol, and 3 parts by weight of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid, micellized to the size of 10-6~ 10-1° cm.

In the present invention, pure vegetable higher fatty acids extracted from natural materials are used. Preferably, there is suggested soybean fatty acid, but rice bran fatty acid may be alternatively used.

As for the inventive cleaning material, 30 parts by weight of an alkanolamide compound obtained by condensing soybean fatty acid or rice bran fatty acid with alkanolamine (HOCH2CH2NH2), 15 parts by weight of isooctylphenoxy polyoxyethoxy ethanol ( (CH3) 3CCH2C (CH3) 2C6H40 (CH2) 20 (C2H40) 7C2H40H) as a non-ionic surfactant having a partial ester structure of soybean fatty acid or rice bran fatty acid and a polyhydric alcohol, and 10 parts by weight of p-tert-

oxyphenoxy polyethoxy ethanol ((CH3) 3CCH2C (CH3) 2C6H40 (CH2CH20) xH), are added with 3 parts by weight of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid as a supplement agent, and then uniformly mixed with 42 parts by weight of distilled water, followed by micellizing the mixture to the size of 10-6~ 10-1° cm through the processes of pulverizing, drying and screening, to prepare the active cleaning material via control of water level and pH. As the alkanolamide compound, soybean fatty acid or rice bran fatty acid can be condensed with alkanolamine at room temperature or by heating, depending on characteristics thereof.

The cleaning material according to the present invention is dispersed in the form of micelles of 10-6~ 10-1° cm into water, and directly infiltrated into dirt or filth through random interactions with surface charges on such contaminants. Therefore, dirt materials can be easily separated from attached portions and dissolved by excellent surface activity of the cleaning material. Further, the cleaning material of the present invention is increased in washing effect even in salt water as well as hard and soft water.

In addition, the inventive cleaning material does not contain harmful substances, such as sulfates, phosphates, nitrates, nitrilotriacetic acid, etc., and thus can serve as an environmentally safe detergent.

Industrial Applicability

As described above, the cleaning material of the present invention can perform washing work via high surface activity thereof while ions thereof are not dissociated, and also can exert high magnetic and adsorptive activities, thus acting as environmentally safe materials without discharge of harmful substances. Further, the inventive cleaning material can be employed to achieve various functions, such as penetration, emulsification, dispersion, cleaning and decomposition, when used on skin and various organic or inorganic materials, as well as moisture-retention of skin.

The present invention has been described in an illustrative manner, and it is to be understood that the terminology used is intended to be in the nature of description rather than of limitation. Many modifications and variations of the present invention are possible in light of the above teachings. Therefore, it is to be understood that within the scope of the appended claims, the invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically described.
