Abstract:
An actuator (1, 1A, 1B, 1C) that comprises a deformable material (2) and an energy input part (3). The deformable material (2) is configured from polymer fibers and, by deforming in response to energy input from the outside, outputs motive force. The energy input part (3) inputs energy to the deformable material (2). The actuator (1, 1A, 1B, 1C) also comprises protection members (4, 6) that keep substances that would change the deformation characteristics of the deformable material (2) from contacting the deformable material (2) from the outside.
