Abstract:
The invention relates to an actuator for brake shoes inside a drum brake of a motor vehicle, in particular with an electric motor. The invention also relates to an assembly method, as well as to a drum brake and a braking device provided with such an actuator. The actuator includes a linear actuator assembly including a screw-and-nut system and is capable of separating the first ends of the brake shoes. Said screw-and-nut system is driven by a transmission gear which in turn is driven by an electric motor. Said transmission gear is made in the form of a pre-assembled sub-assembly, referred to as gear cartridge, and includes external gears, all the axes of which are parallel to the movement direction of the elements of the linear actuator assembly.
