Title:
ACTUATOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/125813
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is an actuator that imparts a state of a repeating fluctuation of rotation angular velocity from an electric motor to a worm that is rotationally driven by the electric motor, causing the worm to rotate as if to simultaneously oscillate in the direction of rotation, reduces friction of the contact of the worm and a worm wheel, and increases transmission efficiency of a worm gear. In contrast to conventionally, wherein the electric motor (20) was controlled in a manner so that an output shaft (21) rotated at a target rotational angular velocity on the basis of a velocity command, a drive control unit (40) controls the rotational angular velocity of the output shaft (21) in a state such that increasing and decreasing variations with respect to the target velocity are repeated, and as minute wobbles are imparted to the rotational angular velocity of the worm (11), the rotating worm (11) enters a state that can be considered to be minutely oscillating in the direction of rotation, the friction between the tooth surfaces of the worm (11) and the worm wheel (12) is reduced, the transmission efficiency of the worm gear is increased, and as an actuator, the drive force and torque imparted to a driven object are raised.
