Abstract:
The present invention suppresses sudden changes in electromagnetic force on a permanent magnet and facilitates the control of movement of the permanent magnet when the magnetic field of a coil causes the permanent magnet to move in a direction perpendicular to the central axis of the coil. An actuator 1 uses the magnetic field of a coil to cause a permanent magnet 2 to move in a movement direction which is perpendicular to a coil axis L1. The coil is formed in an insulating substrate 3 by conductor patterns 4a, 4b spanning a plurality of layers and has the coil axis L1, which extends in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the insulating substrate 3. The permanent magnet 2 is arranged above the main surface in the coil axis L1 direction such that the polarity direction of the permanent magnet 2 is the movement direction. The conductor patterns 4a, which are formed at positions closest to the permanent magnet 2 in the coil axis L1 direction, have a maximum width W1 for the intervals between the conductor patterns 4a in the polarity direction, which is shorter than a maximum width W2 of the intervals between at least one of the other conductor patterns 4b. The width at which the interval of the maximum width W1 between the conductor patterns 4a overlaps the permanent magnet 2 in the polarity direction is the maximum width W1 regardless of the position of the permanent magnet 2.
