Abstract:
Disclosed is an excellent agent for treatment or prevention of dementia, schizophrenia and the like, which has a serotonin 5-HT5A receptor modulating activity. An acylguanidine derivative represented by formula (I), wherein guanidine is bonded to one ring of phthalene via a carbonyl group, and a cyclic group is bonded to the other ring of phthalene, is confirmed to have a strong serotonin 5-HT5A receptor modulating activity and an excellent pharmacological effect due to the serotonin 5-HT5A receptor modulating activity. Consequently, the acylguanidine derivative is useful as a good agent for treatment or prevention of dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
