Abstract:
Disclosed is an adamantane derivative having adequate optical characteristics such as transparency and (long-term) light resistance, adequate electrical characteristics such as long-term heat resistance and dielectric constant, and good mechanical properties. Also disclosed are a method for producing such an adamantane derivative, and a resin composition containing such an adamantane derivative. Specifically disclosed are adamantane derivatives represented by the general formula (I)-(III) below. Also specifically disclosed are a method for producing an adamantane derivative represented by the general formula (III) below, wherein an adamantane derivative represented by the general formula (II) below is reacted with an acrylic acid; a resin composition containing an adamantane derivative represented by the general formula (II) below and an epoxy resin curing agent; and a resin composition containing an adamantane derivative represented by the general formula (III) below and a thermal polymerization initiator or a photopolymerization initiator. In the formulae below, R1 represents CnH2n+1 (wherein n represents an integer of 1-10); R2 represents H, CH3, F or CF3; and j represents an integer of 1-4, k represents an integer of 0-3, m represents an integer of 2-5 and j + k + m ≤ 6.
