Abstract:

An adapter (800) is provided with a signal generator (850) and a ground fault generating circuit (860). The signal generator (850) provides a signal instructing a vehicle (10) to supply electricity when an adapter (800) is connected to a plug (320) of a charging cable (300) which is used when performing external charging using power from an external power supply. If the plug (320) and the adapter (800) are not fully engaged, the ground fault generating circuit (860) electrically connects a power transmission path to a ground, forming a ground fault state. By driving a power converter in response to the signal indicating that electricity be supplied, the vehicle (10) supplies power from the vehicle to an external electrical device (700) using the charging cable (300). If a ground fault state is formed by the ground fault generating circuit (860), the supply of power to the electrical device (700) stops.
