Abstract:
The present invention is an adaptor device (100) for data transfer between a source device (200) and at least one receiver device (300) having data transfer interfaces which are different from each other. Accordingly, the subject matter invention is characterized by comprising a distribution unit (120) having a main terminal (121), at least one first terminal (122) and at least one second terminal (123); at least one first converter (131) connected to said first terminal (122) and which provides converting a data transfer interface connected to the receiver device (300) into a data transfer interface which is compliant with the distribution unit (120); a second converter (132) connected to said second terminal (123); a power transfer unit (140); a control unit (150) electrically connected to said power transfer unit (140); said control unit (150) comprises a processor unit (151); a signal transmitter (152) connected to said processor unit (151) in a manner providing data transfer and which provides emitting of wireless signal; and a user interface (153) for providing command input to the processor unit (151).

CLAIMS

An adaptor device (100) for data transfer between a source device (200) and at least one receiver device (300) having data transfer interfaces which are different from each other; characterized by comprising a distribution unit (120) having a main terminal (121 ), at least one first terminal (122) and at least one second terminal (123); at least one first converter (131 ) connected to said first terminal (122) and which provides converting a data transfer interface connected to the receiver device (300) into a data transfer interface which is compliant with the distribution unit (120); a second converter (132) connected to said second terminal (123); a power transfer unit (140); a control unit (150) electrically connected to said power transfer unit (140); said control unit (150) comprises a processor unit (151 ); a signal transmitter (152) connected to said processor unit (151 ) in a manner providing data transfer and which provides emitting of wireless signal; and a user interface (153) for providing command input to the processor unit (151 ).

An adaptor device (100) according to claim 1 , wherein said distribution unit (120) is a USB hub.

An adaptor device (100) according to claim 1 , wherein said source device (200) is a computer and the receiver device (300) is a projector and/or loudspeaker and/or microphone.

An adaptor device (100) according to claim 2, wherein said first converter (131 ) is a converter from HDMI to USB or a converter from VGA to USB or a converter from DVI to USB.

An adaptor device (100) according to claim 2, wherein said second converter is a converter from Ethernet to USB or a converter from sound port to USB.

An adaptor device (100) according to claim 1 , wherein said receiver device (300) is a projector controlled by means of infrared light and said signal transmitter (152) is configured to send infrared signal.

An adaptor device (100) according to claim 1 , wherein said user interface (153) comprises a turn on/turn off button (154).

8. An adaptor device (100) according to claim 1 , wherein said control unit (150) comprises a programming port connected to the processor unit (151 ).

Description:
AN ADAPTOR DEVICE FOR DATA TRANSFER TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to an adaptor device for data transfer between a source device, having data transfer interfaces which are different from each other, and at least one receiver device.

PRIOR ART

Interfaces like HDMI, DVI and VGA are used for providing image transfer from the computer to projectors. Various connection points provided on computers has evolved since the past. Connection of computers, having single port, both to the projection and to the internet in a cabled manner creates problem. Moreover, control of the projection device is realized by means of control units having pluralities of buttons and this may lead to accidentally changing of the optimum setting of the projection device by the user. As a result, because of all of the abovementioned problems, an improvement is required in the related technical field.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an adaptor device, for eliminating the above mentioned disadvantages and for bringing new advantages to the related technical field.

An object of the present invention is to provide an adaptor device which provides data transfer between a source device like computer and projector and other similar receiver devices while providing control of the projector.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an adaptor device which provides projector control in a manner reducing the cognitive load of the user. In order to realize all of the abovementioned objects and the objects which are to be deducted from the detailed description below, the present invention is an adaptor device for data transfer between a source device and at least one receiver device having data transfer interfaces which are different from each other. Accordingly, the subject matter invention is characterized by comprising a distribution unit having a main terminal, at least one first terminal and at least one second terminal; at least one first converter connected to said first terminal and which provides converting a data transfer interface connected to the receiver device into a data transfer interface which is compliant with the distribution unit; a second converter connected to said second terminal; a power transfer unit; a control unit electrically connected to said power transfer unit; said control unit comprises a processor unit; a signal transmitter connected to said processor unit in a manner providing data transfer and which provides emitting of wireless signal; and a user interface for providing command input to the processor unit. Thus, the computer provides data exchange with pluralities of receiver devices through a single cable, and meanwhile, the receiver devices are controlled through the same device.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, said distribution unit is a USB hub.

In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, said source device is a computer and the receiver device is a projector and/or loudspeaker and/or microphone.

In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, said first converter is a converter from HDMI to USB or a converter from VGA to USB or a converter from DVI to USB.

In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, said second converter is a converter from Ethernet to USB or a converter from sound port to USB. In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, said receiver device is a projector controlled by means of infrared light and said signal transmitter is configured to send infrared signal.

In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, said user interface comprises a turn on/turn off button. Thus, the user interface is simplified and unintentionally changing of the optimum operation settings during usage of the projector is prevented.

In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, said control unit comprises a programming port connected to the processor unit. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

In this detailed description, the subject matter is explained with references to examples without forming any restrictive effect only in order to make the subject more understandable.

The present invention is essentially an adaptor device (100) comprising distribution unit (120) which provides connection of essentially receiver devices (300) like projector, loudspeaker to a source device (200) like computer through a single cable and which provides data transfer through the same cable by means of a device like modem of computer which provides internet at the same time. The adaptor device (100) also comprises a control unit (150) for providing turning on/off of the projector in a remote manner.

With reference to Figure 1 , in an exemplary embodiment, the adaptor device (100) comprises a distribution unit (120) positioned inside a body (1 10). Said distribution unit (120) comprises a main terminal (121 ) and at least one first terminal (122), a second terminal (123) and a third terminal (124). The distributor unit (120) is embodied such that the first terminal (122), the second terminal (123) and the third terminal (124) are collected in the main terminal (121 ). In this exemplary embodiment, the distribution unit (120) is a USB hub device.

The first terminal (122) is connected to a first converter (131 ), the second terminal (123) is connected to a second converter (132) and the third terminal (124) is connected to a third converter (133). Said converters are configured in a manner converting a data transfer interface to another data transfer interface. Said converters can be HDMI-USB converter, DVI-USB converter, VGA-USB converter, Ethernet-USB converter, Sound port-USB converter. Thus, a computer, connected to said main terminal (121 ), can send image signal to a projector connected to the second converter (132) through a single cable connected to the main terminal (121 ) and said computer can send sound signal to a loudspeaker connected to the third terminal (124) or it can receive sound signal from a microphone. Moreover, internet connection can be provided from an internet provider connected to the first converter (131 ). The adaptor device (100) also comprises a power transfer unit (140). Said power transfer unit (140) may comprise a battery or may be connected to the network.

The adaptor device (100) comprises a control unit (150). Said control unit (150) is electrically connected to the power transfer unit (140) and it is fed by the power supply. Said control unit

(150) comprises a processor unit (151 ). The processor unit (151 ) may be a microprocessor or a micro-controller. The processor unit (151 ) is connected to a signal transmitter (152) in a manner transferring data to this signal transmitter (152). The signal transmitter (152) is configured to emit signal according to the data received from the processor unit (151 ). In this exemplary embodiment, it is embodied to transmit signal by means of infrared light. In an alternative embodiment, it can also emit RF signal. The control unit (150) also comprises a user interface (153) which provides command input to the processor unit (151 ). Said user interface (153) comprises a turn on/off button (154). The processor unit (151 ) generates signals which provide control of receiver devices (300) like projector and provides spreading of them by the signal transmitter (152). Since the user interface (153) comprises only turn on/turn off button (154), the accidental changing of the projector setting by means of devices like remote-control by users during presentation is prevented and moreover, the user interface (153) is simplified and the cognitive load of the user is reduced. The processor unit

(151 ) also comprises a programming port. Thus, externally programming of the processor unit (151 ) is permitted, and programming can be provided for controlling projectors and similar receiver devices (300) which communicate with different protocols.

The control unit (150) may comprise a body which is separate from the adaptor device (100). Thus, the control unit (150) can be positioned at a location where it will view the projector. In this exemplary embodiment, the control unit (150) is embodied to be mounted to a table.

In an exemplary embodiment, the user interface (153) may comprise pluralities of buttons. The user interface (153) may also comprise a source change button (not illustrated in the figure) assigned for change of source device (200) and may also comprise a black screen button (not illustrated in the figure) configured to provide staying of a receiver device (300) like projector at black screen. Thus, the basic functions, which are probable to be used during presentation, can be fulfilled.

The protection scope of the present invention is set forth in the annexed claims and cannot be restricted to the illustrative disclosures given above, under the detailed description. It is because a person skilled in the relevant art can obviously produce similar embodiments under the light of the foregoing disclosures, without departing from the main principles of the present invention.
