Abstract:
An additive for lubricating oils which comprises (A) a specific nitrogen-containing compound represented by general formula (1) and (B) a specific boric ester compound represented by general formula (2) and/or a specific boric ester compound represented by general formula (3); and a lubricating oil composition which comprises the additive and a lube base oil. Thus, provided are an additive for lubricating oils and a lubricating oil composition, both containing an oiliness-improver type friction modifier that exhibits, under wider friction conditions, a friction-reducing effect superior to that of a conventional oiliness-improver type friction modifier.
