Abstract:
An adhesive agent for a wet friction disc, which comprises an adhesive agent having a resol type phenol resin as a main component and further comprises a nitric acid salt or nitric acid, wherein the nitric acid salt or nitric acid is preferably added in an amount so that the adhesive age for a wet friction disc has a pH in the range of 3 to 6. The use of the above adhesive agent for the adhesion of a wet friction material with a metal substrate allows the achievement of a high adhesion strength without the surface treatment, such as a chemical treatment, of the metal substrate.
