Disclosed is an adjacent vehicle detection device. An adjacent vehicle detection device comprises: a first distance sensor (10R) which detects a distance to an object which is present in a first detection region (20R) to the rear of a vehicle; a second distance sensor (10F) which detects a distance to an object which is present in a second detection region (20F) which is at least partially outside of the first detection region; an adjacent vehicle detection unit (S10) which detects an adjacent vehicle from a detection circumstance of the first distance sensor and a detection circumstance of the second distance sensor; and a storage device (50) which stores a history of the distances which are detected by the second distance sensor. The adjacent vehicle detection unit has a plurality of adjacent vehicle assessment conditions for assessing whether the object which is detected with the first distance sensor is an adjacent vehicle, and switches the adjacent vehicle assessment conditions on the basis of the history which is stored in the storage device.
