DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0022] Embodiments will now be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which preferred embodiments are shown.

[0023] With reference now to Fig. 1, a garment system 10 is initially described. According to one embodiment, the garment system 10 includes trousers 12 that include a pair of trouser legs 14 and a trouser-top 22. In one embodiment, the trousers 12 cover the user's 18 body from the waist to the ankle. The system 10 also includes a separable-seam 16 on each trouser leg's 14 outside. The entire separable-seam 16 is user 18 adjustable, which is fastened together by the user 18 using hook and loop fasteners, for example. Each separable-seam 16 runs from each trouser leg's bottom 20 to the trouser-top 22.

[0024] The system 10 further includes a crotch-seam 24 on the inside of each trouser leg 14 and the crotch-seam runs from one trouser leg's bottom 20 to the other trouser leg's bottom. With additional reference to Fig. 6, the system 10 additionally includes a jacket 26. With additional reference to Figs. 16-18, the system 10 also include a retainer 28 carried by the jacket 26 that stows the trousers 12 in a first state, and deploys the trousers in a second state without the user 18 taking off the jacket.

[0025] In one embodiment, the retainer 28 is a series of user adjustable straps fastened to the jacket 26 used to stow the furled trousers 12 (see Fig. 17) . In another embodiment, the retainer 28 is a single user adjustable sleeve fastened to the jacket 26 used to stow the furled trousers 12 (see Fig. 18) .

[0026] With additional reference to Figs. 7-8, the system 10 further includes a positioner 30 fastened to the trouser-top 22 and the jacket 26, and the positioner aids the user 18 when the separable-seam 16 is adjusted. In other words, the user 18 does not need to hold up trousers 12 because the positioner 30 is holding up the trousers.

[0027] In one embodiment, each trouser leg 14 extends down from the trouser-top 22 and ends near each calf of the user 18 instead of each ankle of the user. In another embodiment, each trouser leg 14 extends down from the trouser-top 22 and ends near each knee of the user 18 instead of each ankle of the user.

[0028] In one embodiment, the trousers 12 are weather- resistant. For example, the weather-resistant trousers 12 are water proof and vapor permeable. In a different embodiment, the weather-resistant trousers 12 are water proof. In another embodiment, the weather-resistant

trousers 12 limit wind and/or water from reaching a user's portion 32 protected by the weather-resistant trousers.

[0033] In one embodiment, the system 10 also includes a jacket 26, and a retainer 28 carried by the jacket that stows the weather-resistant trousers 12 in a first state, and deploys the weather-resistant trousers in a second state without the user 18 taking off the jacket. In another embodiment, the jacket 26 is weather-resistant and forms a weather-resistant shell for the user 18 in the second state that protects a user's portion 30 protected by the weather- resistant trousers 12 and the weather resistant jacket. In another embodiment, the positioner 30 is positioned near a user's 18 waist and/or at a user's shoulders (see Fig. 15), and the crotch-seam 24 is not user 18 adjustable.

[0034] According to one embodiment, the garment system 10 includes trousers 12 including a pair of trouser legs and a trouser-top 22. The system 10 also includes a

separable-seam 16 on each trouser leg's 14 outside, the entire separable-seam is user 18 adjustable, and each separable-seam runs from each trouser leg's bottom 20 to the trouser-top 22. The system 10 further includes a crotch-seam 24 on the inside of each trouser leg 14 and the crotch-seam runs from one trouser leg's bottom 20 to the other trouser leg's bottom. The system 10 additionally includes a positioner 30 fastened to the trouser-top 22, the positioner engages the user 18 and aids the user when the separable-seam 16 is adjusted, and the positioner works independently of the separable-seam.

[0035] In one embodiment, each trouser leg 14 extends down from the trouser-top 22 and ends near each calf of the user 18 instead of each ankle of the user. In another embodiment, each trouser leg 14 extends down from the trouser-top 22 and ends near each knee of the user 18 instead of each ankle of the user.

[0036] In one embodiment, the trousers 12 are weather- resistant. In another embodiment, the weather-resistant trousers 12 limit wind and/or water from reaching a user's portion 32 protected by the weather-resistant trousers.

[0037] In one embodiment, the system 10 also include a jacket 26, and a retainer 28 carried by the jacket that stows the trousers 12 in a first state, and deploys the trousers in a second state without the user 18 taking off the jacket. In another embodiment, the jacket 26 and trousers 12 are weather-resistant and form a weather- resistant shell for the user 18 in the second state that protects the user's portion 32 protected by the weather- resistant trousers and weather resistant jacket.

[0038] In one embodiment, the positioner 30 is

positioned near a user's 18 waist and/or positioned at a user's shoulders, and the crotch-seam 24 is not user adjustable. In another embodiment, the positioner 30 permanently attaches the trousers 12 to the jacket 26. The permanent attachment is achieved using stitching, adhesive, and/or fabric welding, for example. In another embodiment, the user 18 attaches the trousers 12 to the jacket 26.

[0039] Figs. 1-5 are a sequence of actions taken by the user 18 to put on trousers 12. Fig. 1 shows the trousers 12 before being applied to the user 18. Fig. 2 shows the user 18 holding up trousers 12 before the positioner 30 is fully applied.
