Abstract:
Provided are an adjuster and shock absorber, wherein a rotating member, which axially displaces a valve member according to a rotation operation, is supported by an adjuster case on the same axis as the valve member. A detent mechanism is composed of: a fluid chamber that exerts a fluid pressure on the rotating member in a direction in which the fluid chamber is spaced apart from the valve member; a pressure member fixed to the rotating member; and a pressure-receiving member fixed to the adjuster which supports the pressure member against the pressure from the pressure chamber. An engagement part, which engages with the pressure member, is formed on the pressure-receiving member, thereby permitting the dimensions of the rotating member of the adjuster and the operation input to be minimized.
