Abstract:
Disclosed is a radioactive iodine removal apparatus (10) utilizing an adsorbent for radioactive iodine. The apparatus (10) is equipped with a iodine filter (15), wherein the iodine filter (15) is placed in a chamber (13) of a duct (12) into which an exhaust gas (11A) containing radioactive iodine is to be fed, and the iodine filter (15) comprises a radioactive iodine adsorbent (14) that can adsorb thereon radioactive iodine contained in the exhaust gas (11A). The radioactive iodine adsorbent (14) comprises a carrier that constitutes a base and an adsorbable substance that can be adsorbed on the carrier, wherein the adsorbable substance contains at least TEDA and TEDA is adsorbed in an amount of more than 3.0 mass% and less than 10.0 mass%.
