[Problem] To provide an adsorber having a configuration with which the desorption rate for the adsorber can be improved, and to provide an adsorber-type heat pump containing this adsorber. [Solution] An adsorber characterized in that it is equipped with a first adsorption agent that adsorbs and desorbs a cooling medium, a second adsorption agent for which the vapor pressure condition and the temperature condition under which adsorption and desorption of the aforementioned cooling medium occurs are different from those of the first adsorption agent, a sealable container in which the first adsorption agent and the second adsorption agent are contained, and a water pipeline that penetrates the container and is in thermal contact with both the first adsorption agent and the second adsorption agent, with the first adsorption agent and the second adsorption agent being arranged at different locations along the water pipeline.
