Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for selectively and efficiently adsorbing negative ions such as phosphate ions that have an adverse effect on the environment if discharged as is into the environment, or negative ions which can be used beneficially by being recovered from waste water or solutions comprising the same using an adsorption material. A method for adsorbing a target negative ion from an aqueous solution (A) containing the target negative ion and other negative ions using a negative ion-absorbing material, the method being characterized in that at least both of the following steps are carried out: (1) a step for bringing the aqueous solution (A) with a pH of 5.8 or less into contact with the negative ion-adsorbing material to adsorb the negative ions; and then (2) a step for bringing water or an aqueous solution (B) of pH 5.2-11 into contact with the negative ion-adsorbing material to desorb at least some of the other negative ions adsorbed to the negative ion-adsorbing material from the negative ion-adsorbing material.
