Description:
ADVANCED VISE JAWS

FIELD OF INVENTION

0001. The present invention relates to vise jaw support system for improved jaws support structure for holding a wide variety of workpieces especially to hold multiple workpieces at a time during machine operations.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

0002. It is a common practice to the worker for work on machine with using a vise for the machine operations with workpieces. In the most vises which available in the ma rket they have a fixed jaw and opposite side there is a movable vise jaw where fixed vise jaw mounted permanently on vise bed and movable vise jaw having sliding surface contact with vise bed through lead screw.

0003. Machine vise for heavy duty machining operations impose particular requirements on the jaws support structure and vise jaws itself to hold a workpiece fixed or immobile both in the process of clamping the workpiece in place and during the machining operations. It is the common practice for a worker to use a vise for machining operations. Most vises which are available in the market are fixed jaw having an opposite side movable jaw. In the double vise jaw which are described by Nelson R Minch in the U.S. Patent no. 2,062,326 and by C. E. Hell described in the U.S. Patent no. 1,966,391 this vise have four jaw that means the workpieces hold from the four side. In the U.S. patent no 5,996,986 vise stop attachment described by Harold E. Ewing. In the U.S. patent no. 4,706,949 Robert L Dossey and Truman J Collins are described the attachments for holding the workpiece as per requirements.

0004. In the prior art vises which are available in the market there are only two jaws where one jaw is fixed and second jaw is movable. In the prior art vise only a single workpiece can be clamp at a time which is hold from both side is fixed jaw and movable jaw. Which may result is workpiece slipping out when heavy depth cut is applied. 0005. In the prior art, multiple workpieces cannot be clamped together at a time and need manually work to set and hold workpiece at right-angled position and round components may have to be hold between "V" blocks or required chuck or collet fixture with replacement of vise. Where attachments for the prior art are available and they are expensive and time consuming.

0006. Hence present invention is almost collective product of the prior art but is meant to reduce the need of attachments as shown on prior art hence the invention is easily interchangeable as per need of the holding workpiece.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

0007. The present invention provides an illustrated embodiment, a machine vise with ADVANCED VISE JAWS is helpful for holding the workpiece properly from the four side. The present invention are holding workpieces at Right-angled position as well as capable of holding multiple workpieces at a time. ADVANCED VISE JAWS have a workpieces stopper and can be easily converted as per requirement in few seconds,

0008. In particular embodiment of the invention the lateral dimension such as the length, of the movable and fixed components provides a passage for workpiece clamp and hold.

0009. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide for a novel and improved vise jaw for holding the workpieces properly at right-angled position from the four side.

0010. It is another object of the present invention is to hold the multiple workpieces together at right-angled position for the machine operation. Hence there is no need the requirement of the accessory for the holding workpieces at right-angled position and this invention hold multiple workpieces together at a time, saves machines operation time.

0011. The another object of the present invention is provide stopper attachment system without any extra accessories and the stopper can be interchangeable with sides of vise jaw. 0012. Another object of the present invention is to provide suitable assembly of the invention. This invention have stopper plate and clamp plate which are assembled with fixed vise jaw and movable vise jaw and the assembly of this invention is not required any mechanical knowledge for assembled it hence this invention provide suitable assembly.

0013. Another object of the present invention is to capable hold multiple round components without need of the "V" blocks and this invention is useful to reduce the need of chuck and collet fixture for milling machine work.

0014. Another object of the present invention is to convert this invention into prior art and prior art to this invention in a least time.

0015. Other advantage and features of the invention will become more readily apparent from the following drawings.

0016. Although specific terms are used in the following description for the sake of clarity, these terms are intended to refer only to the particular structure of my invention selected for illustration in the drawings and are not intended to define or limit the scope of the invention.

0017. Referring to Figs 1-6 a machine vise jaw pursuant to an illustrative of the invention is shown as a machine vise jaw system and is employed to hold the workpiece, although the invention is not limited to a specific machine system and can be practiced with other types of industrial mechanical assemblies.

0018. In accordance with the present invention, the workpieces holds and clamps at desire force and reference plane inside the movable vise jaw 14 and fixed vise jaw 12. The lead screw 22 provides a required possession and movement to movable vise jaw 14 In between the stopper plate 18 and clamp plate 24 where positioning and arrangement of multiple workpiece is done.

Fig-1 illustrates a perspective view of a machine vise jaw assembly, embodiments of present invention placed within a mechanical machine assembly, the movable vise jaw 14, is assembled with lead screw 22, and having sliding surface contact with machine vise bed 30, a movable vise jaw 14 having common central axis with fixed vise jaw 12, the window slot cutout 20 present on movable vise jaw 14 and fixed vise jaw 12 having common central axis, stopper plate 18 assembled inside the window slot cutout 20 at left or right side of the vise 10, the clamp plate 24 having threaded hole 26 with the central axis perpendicular to the clamp plate 24, vise plate 16 is assembled with movable vise jaw 14 and fixed vise jaw 12, vise jaw plate 16 having physical mechanical contact with workpiece in working condition, a fixed vise jaw 12 having a threaded hole 28 for the purpose of fixing and locking the position of stopper plate 18.

0019. In accordance with present invention fig.l shows the axis divides machine vise jaw with multiple cutting planes and axis, cutting plane E-E is central axis of threaded hole 26, O- O is reference axis of machine vise jaw 10. The workpiece or workpieces are hold in to the fixed vise jaw 12, movable vise jaw 14, stopper plate 18 and clamp plate 24. When the operator operate the lead screw for tightening the workpieces the workpieces hold tightly between fixed vise jaw 12 and movable vise jaw 14 and after inserting any screw for example socket head screw into the threaded hole of clamp plate 24 and after tightening that screw the workpiece are holding between the stopper plate 18 and clamp plate 24 as well that means the workpiece or workpieces are fully clamp from four side of vise 10 and for round workpieces the vise 10 act as a four jaw chuck.

0020. Fig.2 & Fig.3 illustrate a perspective view of machine vise jaw after removal of Clamp Plate 24 and shows the stopper plate 18 is adjustable and workable as a workpiece stopper and usable from both sides of vise 10.

0021. Fig.4 illustrates a perspective view of prior art vise 10 having fixed vise jaw 32, movable vise jaw 34, lead screw 22, jaws plate 16 and vise bed 30.

0022. Fig. 5 illustrate perspective view of machine vise 10 with removal of stopper plate 18 and clamp plate 24, it is possible to clamp and hold the workpiece in absence of clamp plate 24 and stopper plate 18. Enabling the unit to perform as a normal clamping unit.

0023. Fig.6 illustrates an orthographic top view of machine vise 10, axis 0-0 is a reference axis of movable vise jaw 14. 0024. While various embodiments of the present invention have been seen and described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of example only and not limitation. Thus the breath and scope of the present invention should not be limited by any of above described any in accordance with the following claims and their equivalent.
