Abstract:
An advertisement distribution server transmits, in response to a distribution request received from a playback terminal, advertisement data for providing an advertisement video. The advertisement distribution server is provided with: a communication unit that communicates with the playback terminal; and a control unit that controls transmission of the advertisement data. In a case in which the distribution request has been received from the playback terminal (S15) and a predetermined condition (for example, chasing distribution) is met (YES in S17), the control unit transmits, to the playback terminal, information indicating playback of an advertisement originally associated with a program that the playback terminal is playing back (S18). In a case in which the predetermined condition is not met (NO in S17), the control unit transmits, to the playback terminal, information regarding advertisement data of a replacement advertisement (S19).
