Abstract:
Provided is an aerosol generation apparatus that enables determination as to whether an aerosol source is in short supply, while suppressing fluctuation of an aerosol generation amount during suction of aerosol by a user. The aerosol generation apparatus includes: a power source 110; a storage part that stores an aerosol source or an aerosol base material that retains the aerosol source; a load 132 which atomizes the aerosol source with heat generated by power supply from the power source 110 and of which an electric resistance value is changed in accordance with temperature; first sensors 112B, 112D that output values regarding the electric resistance value of the load 132; a second sensor that generates an output upon reception of a request regarding aerosol generation for the user; a first circuit 202 that is connected in series between the power source 110 and the load 132 and that has a first switch Q1; a second circuit 204 that is connected in parallel with the first circuit 202, that has a second switch Q2, and that has a larger electric resistance value than the first circuit 202; and a control unit 106 that controls the first switch Q1 and the second switch Q2. The control unit 106 is configured to estimate the residual quantity of the aerosol source on the basis of the values outputted by the first sensors 112B, 112D when the second switch Q2 is in an on state, and to perform control such that a period during which the output by the second sensor is generated includes the point of time when the second switch Q2 enters an on state while the first switch Q1 is in an on state, or the point of time when the second switch Q2 enters an on state at the same time as the first switch Q1 enters an off state.
