Abstract:
The inventive aerosol generator for fire fighting is characterized by the fact that it is assembled in the form of a block from uniform elements, connected to each other elements. One such element consists of a cylindrical body with convex holes situated on a side surface thereof, a central metallic tube with lateral holes and an aerosol forming composition which is disposed around the tube. Adjacent block elements are connected to each other with the aid of threaded plugs with a through hole which are screwed to the tubes of the adjacent generators. The free ends of the central tube are closed from one side by a start-up unit containing an ignition composition and by a metallic cap nut from other ends. The quantity of generators in the block depends on the required capacity. The inventive aerosol forming composition for fire fighting consists of a mixture of an oxidant and binder. The composition is characterized by a reduced content of inflammable binder down to the complete exclusion thereof due to the addition of a flammable additive capable of burning in a vapor mixed with potassium nitrate.
