14. A storage holder for cans, bottles and other objects as herein described and as illustrated in figures 1 to 5 of the drawings.

Description:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention lies in the field of accessories that provide convenience and neatness, reliability and safety, the invention may be used in any context, for example domestic, business and industrial premises, vehicles of any kind, including ships and boats, aircraft, etc.

BACKGROUND

Aerosol cans and other items that are convenient in today's busy lifestyle are increasingly ubiquitous and though they bring the convenience of their functions they also bring a need for convenient storage. Many such products languish on shelves, window sills and other inappropriate surfaces.

THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a storage holder for cans, bottles and other objects that includes a nested structure, means to retain an object in the nested structure and formations or openings that allows grasping the object to remove and to replace the object in the nested structure.

A more secure support of the object will usually be given by including a base surface on which the object will rest upon being placed in the nested structure.

The storage holder may have a retention means included in its structure, this may comprise, for example, a magnetic strip or button etc that will retain a magneto-susceptible metal object in the nested structure. Other means giving similar effects in other ways may be used, these may include, for example, clips that have a spring action that elastically open and then close around an object when it is placed in or on the holder.

Other structures may comprise a partially enclosed space, with rear and front walls and a space between them at the two sides, together with a base or platform on which an object rests between the walls.

The structure may be shaped so as to retain the object in a clamping manner or by orienting the object so that gravity assists to retain the object in the structure.

The formations that allow grasping may be recesses or apertures that accommodate the fingers and/or hands to grasp the object.

Preferably the storage holder has means for mounting or affixing the structure upon or against some surface, like a wall, shelf or any horizontal, vertical or other surface; the means for mounting or affixing may be adapted to specific purposes like mounting in a vehicle, house, factory, work bench or desk, PC monitor, perambulator, cycle or wherever else. Deodorizers, air fresheners, aerosol spray paints, lubricants, condiments and cooking oils and generally a host of commodities can be contained in cans and held in storage containers.

THE DRAWINGS

The invention is more fully described by way of example, with reference to the drawings, in which : -

Figures 1 to 5 are views of a storage holder according to one embodiment of the invention, being front, side, perspective and plan views with figure 5 being a computer generated photographic type view,

Figures 11 to 15 are views of a storage holder according to another embodiment of the invention, being front, side, perspective and plan views with figure 15 being a computer generated photographic type view,

Figures 21 to 25 are views of a storage holder according to yet another embodiment of the invention, being front, side, perspective and plan views with figure 25 being a computer generated photographic type view,

and

Figures 31 to 35 are views of a storage holder according to another embodiment of the invention, being front, side, perspective and plan views with figure 35 being a computer generated photographic type view.

THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

As shown in figures 1 to 5, the storage holder 1 comprises a nested structure 2, means in the form of a magnetic strip 3 to retain an object in the nested structure and formations 4 and 5 that allow grasping the object to remove and to replace the object in the nested structure. The holder includes a base surface 6 on which the object will rest upon being placed in the nested structure. The formations 4 and 5 are recesses or indents that provide free space to grasp an object, which in this embodiment is a magneto-susceptible metal can, like a drink can or aerosol. For example, a deodorant aerosol can be conveniently stored in this holder mounted on a wall in a toilet. The storage holder has two countersunk holes 7 and 8, which allow the holder to be mounted by screws onto a wall, alternatively it can be mounted by means of adhesive, e.g. double-sided tape, etc.

As shown in figures 11 to 15, the storage holder 11 comprises a nested structure 12, means in the form of two elastic clips 13 to retain an object in the nested structure and openings 14 and 15 that allow grasping the object to remove and to replace the object in the nested structure. The holder includes a base surface 16 on which the object will rest upon being placed in the nested structure. The base has a lip 17 that helps to ensure that the object will not slip off the base. The object may in the case of this embodiment be a plastic can, for example, as indicated by broken lines 18.

As shown in figures 21 to 25, the storage holder 21 comprises a nested structure 22, means in the form of a front wall 27 and a back wall 28 to retain an object in the nested structure and spaces 24 and 25 that allow grasping the object to remove and to replace the object in the nested structure. The holder includes a base surface 26 on which the object will rest upon being placed in the nested structure.

A shown in figures 31 to 35, the storage holder 31 comprises a nested structure 32, means in the form of a front wall 37 and back wall 38 to retain an object in the nested structure and openings 34 and 35 that allow grasping the object to remove and to replace the object in the nested structure. The holder includes a base surface 36 on which the object will rest upon being placed in the nested structure. The object is a can for example, which is illustrated by broken lines 39 and here the holder holds the object in an inclined position at an angle 40 so that gravity acts to tend to retain the can in the holder. The front wall has two fingers 41 and 42 that grasp or cradle the can in a secure way.

These are examples of designs in accordance with the invention, other designs within the scope of the invention are possible.

The invention can be implemented in light-weight, aesthetically pleasing ways and can be adapted to accommodate various different sizes of objects.
