Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an agent for inhibiting the formation of an elastin-elafin composite capable of inhibiting the formation of an elastin-elafin composite; a composition for inhibiting the formation of an elastin-elafin composite; a screening method for a substance having an elastin-elafin composite formation inhibitory effect; a method for inhibiting the formation of an elastin-elafin composite; a method for inhibiting a reduction in decomposition of denatured elastin; and a method for maintaining normal elastin fibers. The present invention relates to an agent for inhibiting a reduction in decomposition of denatured elastin, the agent containing, as an active ingredient, at least one plant extract selected from the group consisting of passion fruit extract, Calendula officinalis extract, white mustard extract, althaea extract, white willow extract, Acorus calamus extract, peach kernel extract, and soy bean extract.
