Abstract:
The present invention relates to an agent for preventing an increase in blood pressure containing as the active ingredient a coffee bean extract, which is obtained through a subcritical treatment step under a temperature of 140-200˚C and a pressure of 0.15-1.8 MPa such that pressure is greater than saturated steam pressure at each temperature, wherein when the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibiting activity is 50%, the coffee bean extract solid concentration (IC50 value) is 0.16 mg/mL or less. The present invention further relates to an agent for preventing saccharification, and also relates to methods for producing these agents. The present invention provides an agent for preventing an increase in blood pressure or an agent for preventing saccharification, either of which is derived from a coffee bean and has a higher activity, and methods for producing the same, as well as a method for producing a coffee bean extract having the effect of preventing an increase in blood pressure and the effect of preventing saccharification.
