Abstract:
This drug for preventing, suppressing or treating corneal disease or corneal damage is characterized by containing, as an effective ingredient, a polypeptide including a region comprising a polypeptide selected from the group consisting of the following (a)-(c): (a) a polypeptide formed from 70 or more continuous amino acids in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 4, and including the region 166aa-235aa among SEQ ID NO: 4; (b) a polypeptide formed from 70 or more continuous amino acids in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 2, and including the region 166aa-235aa in SEQ ID NO: 2; and (c) a polypeptide having 80% or more sequence homology with the polypeptide of (a) or (b).
