Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a means whereby a substance that is useful in intestinal tract immunity induction, such as a lactic acid bacterium, can be efficiently incorporated into the intestinal tract.
Provided are: an agent for promoting substance incorporation in the intestinal tract, said agent comprising a surface layer (S-layer) protein containing a peptide motif that is common to lactic acid bacteria belonging to the genus Lactobacillus; a complex that comprises the agent for promoting incorporation with a substance to be incorporated into the intestinal tract; a food, drink or medicine that comprises the complex; and a method for screening a lactic acid bacterium having a high ability to migrate into the intestinal tract, said screening method comprising measuring the expression amount of an S-layer protein in the cell surface layer of a lactic acid bacterium to be tested.
