Abstract:
A method that includes adding an agent for treating wet-coating-booth circulation water to wet-coating-booth circulation water causes uncoated paint collected in the wet-coating-booth circulation water to aggregate, and imparts flotability to the sludge obtained by the aggregation, the agent containing a copolymer having structural units derived from a monomer represented by formula (A) and structural units derived from styrene. (In formula (A): R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R2 and R3 are each independently a C1-4 alkyl group; R4 is a hydrogen atom, a C1-4 alkyl group, or a benzyl group; Y is O or NH; n represents the number of repetitions of the structure in parentheses and is an integer of 2-5; and Z- is a counter anion).
